God is Gracious and Full of Compassion.
Nehemiah 9:30-32 (English-KJV)
- Yet many years didst thou forbear them, and testifiedst against them by thy spirit in thy prophets: yet would they not give ear: therefore gavest thou them into the hand of the people of the lands.
- Nevertheless for thy great mercies' sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God.
- Now therefore, our God, the Great, the Mighty, and the Terrible God, who keepest covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.
- For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.
- O
God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have
sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.
- But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
- O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.
- He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
- The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
- He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
- The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
- Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.
- Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.
- The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.
- Therefore
also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with
fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
- And
rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God:
for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and
repenteth him of the evil.
- Who knoweth if He will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the Lord your God?
2 Chronicles 30:8-9 (English-KJV)
- Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the Lord,and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the Lord your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.
- For if ye turn again unto the Lord, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.
- And the Lord descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord.
- And
the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God,merciful
and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,
- Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.
God Exhibits Goodness and Forbearance;
- And
thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest
the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
- Or
despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering;
not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
- But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
God Shows Us His Loving Kindness
God Loves Us;
- That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
- For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
- For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
God Cannot Lie;

Wherein God, willing more abundantly to show unto the heirs of promise the
immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
- That
by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might
have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the
hope set before us:
- Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
God is a Giver;
- Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
- (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)
- Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
- And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
- By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not
sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of
him that was to come.
- But
not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence
of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which
is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
- And
not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by
one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
- For
if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive
abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by
one, Jesus Christ.)
- Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
- Now
when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter
and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
- Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
- For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
- But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
- For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

- Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
- For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
God is Perfect;
- And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
- Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
- Who
in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications
with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death,
and was heard in that he feared;
- Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
- And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
What God Hates;
Deuteronomy 12:30-32 (English-KJV)
- Take
heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they
be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods,
saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.
- Thou shalt not do so unto the Lord thy God: for every abomination to the Lord, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.
- What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
Deuteronomy 16:21-22 (English-KJV)
- Thou shalt not plant thee a grove of any trees near unto the altar of the Lord thy God, which thou shalt make thee.
- Neither shalt thou set thee up any image; which the Lord thy God hates.
- The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord's throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

The Love of God;
- And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
- And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us.
- For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
- For
I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities,
nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
- Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
- He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
- In
this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his
only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
- Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
- By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
- For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
